Eating full clean calories is preparing the environment to step up the healing. The aim is to provide body rest through long fasting so it can work on cleansing and repair through autophagy in the first place and move onto much more cellular level benefits like stem cell regeneration and epigenetics.

1. Autophagy: Autophagy is the condition whereby the cells start to recycle damaged and garbage parts (defects) into basic elements thereby allowing the cells to remodel themselves. The free fatty acids and free amino acids can then start to rejuvenate the skin, muscles, brain, heart, and immune system. When you fast or do intermittent fasting, you trigger garbage recycling and cellular remodelling.

2. Stem cell regeneration: A stem cell is a cell that doesn’t have a purpose yet, it turns into something when the body needs a certain cell. There are certain parts of the body that can turnover cells very quickly, some would take longer and others wouldn’t. What triggers stem cells is the prolonged fasting for 72 hours or even longer. The fat-burning effect that occurs in fasting really helps to fuel the stem cells. The body needs to be fully equipped with nutrition to be able to utilize this benefit through fasting.

3. Epigenetics: Epigenetics literally means “above genetics.” Genes are small sections of the DNA. DNA is the blueprint for building a body. The DNA or gene is not set in stone. Just because you have certain genetics doesn’t mean anything. It’s really the epigenetics. Only 1% effect is from inherited genes, rest is decided by epigenetics.

You are in charge of your DNA. You can do something about your genes, and it has to do with the epigenetic triggers. These environmental triggers turn on or off the genes such as Eating Nutritious food, Long fasting, Cold/Heat, Sleep and some more.

Weight loss is not the goal of fasting, it is a by-product. The ultimate goal is to provide your body the space to undertake and perform the powerful internal healing it is capable of.
