If you’re missing the good old french fries or mathri crunch in the evenings, this recipe is your quick hack to enjoy a healthy crunch once in a while. With so many variants, you can choose your base accordingly. And also a quick tip: these taste best when made in an air fryer!

Ingredients
Almond fries:

1. 100g ground almonds (1/2 cup)
2. 3 tsp xanthan gum, or isabgol/egg
3. 6 tbsp hot water
Coconut flour fries:

1. 50g coconut flour (1/4 cup)
2. 3 tsp xanthan gum or isabgol/egg
3. 7-8 tbsps hot water

1. There are a lot more variations to making fries, you can also make fries from turnip/shaljam or Raw Papaya as well. Add besan instead of cornflour for coating.

2. Almond flour/coconut flour fries is not recommended to be used on a daily basis, please use them once in a while to make interesting dishes.

2. Almond flour/coconut flour fries is not recommended to be used on a daily basis, please use them once in a while to make interesting dishes.

Instructions

1. Mix the ingredients to form a dough, rest it for sometime.
2. Cut out slices according to your preferred thickness.
3. You can fry the slices in ghee/olive oil/sesame oil/butter or simply in an air fryer.
4. You can also bake these fries at 200-degree Celsius (400-degree f) for 20 min, on halfway through you can flip them and put them back into the oven.
5. As mentioned in the video you can freeze these fries in the freezer for up to 4- 6 weeks.
6. Season them immediately once they are fried/ baked, this way seasoning will nicely be coated around your fries.
