Short & Crisp Snippets
The lower oesophageal sphincter (LES) is a circular band of muscle at the end of your oesophagus. When it’s working properly, it relaxes and opens when you swallow. Then it tightens and closes again afterwards. Acid reflux happens when your LES doesn’t tighten or close properly. This allows digestive juices and other contents from your stomach to rise up into your oesophagus, which usually causes pain and heartburn.

Low stomach acid is the underlying cause of acid reflux. One of the major reasons is when you’re stressed, your body suppresses processes that aren’t critical for survival in the moment—like digestion. If you’re chronically stressed, your normal digestion is constantly being interrupted, including inhibiting gastric acid secretion.

To heal acid reflux, healing Insulin Resistance and excess stress environment is the first step. To begin with, having Apple Cider Vinegar which helps with increasing the stomach acid heals acid reflux. If even ACV doesn’t help, the SOS solution to treat this is Betaine Hydrochloride. 2 tbsp ACV with lemon and black salt is amazing to include in your daily regime, although please consult before consuming Betaine HCl.
